I've been posting to our site for many years and have so appreciated people's advice.  Like many of you, I've have my share of issues.  In Sept. 2012, I was diagnosed with Crohn's  which was based on the fact that I developed a fistula (no granulomas).  I've never had urgency, bleeding, or constant trips to the bathroom.  I go no more than 3-4 times a day.  I teach all day long and never need to use the bathroom.  I have no problems with foods.

I spent 28 days in the hospital, was on Remicade for 2.5 years.  I did very well on it until I built up antibodies and was taken off of the drug.  The only meds I take are Cipro and Hyoscyamine . Now I seem to be feeling some of the same symptoms that occurred before my hospitilization.  I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar.  It's a very strange gurgling sound, almost like a draining sensation followed by pain, usually on the edges of my belly and terrible pain in my lower back. Sometimes my husband can hear it.  Don't think I'm crazy, but the sensation happens when I exhale.  It doesn't hurt when it happens, just after. I also have occassional sharp spasm-like pains in my vagina.  My GI doc said it was my small bowel expanding and contracting and didn't seem concerned.  My colorectal doc didn't seem worried either.  The issue is, after 20 years with a pouch, bilateral hip replacements, numerous hospital stays, almost constant pain,  I'm a nervous wreck ALL of the time.  My mind is consumed with fear and anxiety.  I'm on Xanax and I can't imagine how I would function without it.   I'm not a baby and hate feeling this way.  Anyone have any thoughts?  SO appreciated.

Yes I'm having pouch issues as well. I don't have CD but I get that whooshing gas, pain on the left, in fact I'm having trouble eating cause then I get nauseau and dry heave. The Drs have no idea what's wrong. I do have Chronic pouchitis and the GI thinks the  pouch might be going bad. Going into surgery Thursday for possible adhesions but no one can tell me more.,The surgeon is out of town and in surgery all day Tomorrow. He wants to talk to my GI and me somehow first because they want to do whatever has to be done without a second surgery, or they r going to postpone which I said no, have to come to conclusion like now. I've already lost over 10 lbs and can't lose more. Mine is 15 years old. I can't even function right now. I have also been in and out of hospitals but it's this not knowing right now that is pushing me over the edge. Ps I was totally fine and healthy a month ago.

ps why did you spend 28 days in the hospital?

Lisa T,

So am I reading this correctly?  Your doctors are telling you nothing is wrong?  Something is wrong when you are chronic pain. There IS something or somethings wrong or you wouldn't be experiencing pain.  Please keep at them or someone new until someone does something to determine what is happening now.  You have Crohn's now and feeling strange sensations above the pouch would not be a calming experience for me. Have you seen your OB?  I'm guessing a possible RV fistula.

My lower back hurts because my j-pouch is right next to my spine.  Therefore, when my j-pouch is acting up, my lower back hurts.  I even go to my chiropractor sometimes as I can't tell what is causing the pain problem.

I take xanex as needed too.  I can see why you have anxiety.  I wish I could help more than the contact your doctors.

He has mentioned adhesions MANY times.  I had a lapascopic oophrectomy and pelvic abcess surgery in 2004- the WORST experience of my life.  I know that you had lysis done, but I surmise that it didn't work??
How are they going to do a lap?  My doc said it's impossible.  Let me know how things go. THANK YOU so much for your time.  Best of luck.
