Ostomy site scar revision?

My ostomy site had an infection and they decided to let it heal from the inside out. I took a picture every day until it healed completely.

Mine didn't sink back in, just an oval scar. Not sure that I've ever seen a bullet wound to compare it with.

I have 1 old ostomy site (colostomy) and 3 old stoma sites from when they had to move my k pouch...they all were left open to heal from inside out (each surgeon has their own opinion/method) and they all sunk (looks like I was in a knife fight)...I had hernias in all of them and had them fixed from the inside out but the outside still looked sunk and deep like nasty stab wounds (kind of what they were)...my plastic surgeon tried to fix them but they just continue to sink on me...so the scars are straiter and longer each time (he excises the old scars) but they still sink each time...not sure what the mechanism is that makes them do it but I am planning on 1 more try before I give completely up on them...getting tired of knives and anesthetics.
