I'm wondering if anyone has experience with taking oral anti-fungals and how (if at all) they affect GI and pouch function.
I've had fungal infections on and off since being on steroids and antibiotics for my UC, mainly athlete's foot and a persistent fungal infection on my peristomal skin. I'm going to the dermatologist this week for suspected ringworm on my legs (ringworm is a superficial fungal infection). In the past I've only used topical creams.
In case she proposes it, I want to be prepared to know how I feel about taking oral anti-fungals. Is it something we should think twice about the way that we're generally more cautious about taking antibiotics? Any experience or advice would be appreciated.
