Quickie history-I had my pouch done in '97 (had UC) and have suffered with pouchitis ever since with some degree of success. Rotating antibiotics (Cipro and Amoxocillin), lots of immodium and most of the usual drugs we pouchitis folks take for pain and diarrhea. Back in '94 I was diagnosed with Hash. thyroidits and in 2007 rheumatiod arthritis (take drugs for both). So here is my new problem. Over the past 2 months I am having lots of cramping pain low in my gut with strong sensations of having to go to the loo but when I get there, nothing. Sometimes I have to stay on the throne a long, long time for something to move. Most of the time when I do finally have a BM it is not diarrhea (but loose), there is no blood (that I can see) and I do pass lots of gas with the stool. My other pouch problems often pass but not this time. I'll go to the doc later but want my fellow j-poucher insight first (we know more) I eat virtually a fiber free diet (only thing that works for me), have tolerated milk products all my life and have don't have celiac. Probiotic didn't work for me. Have never been constipated with pouch.
Help-anyone out there have any clue as to what is going on? Similar symptoms? My lack of sleep and bouts of intense pain are simply wearing me out.

Thanks a million Jan. Amazing that the relevant thread was just yesterday (I'd scanned the forums but missed that one). Yeah, I am thinking it is my age (55) and my older pouch both
being factors. Now I have to work out ways to get this pouch happy. And thanks to all the others that make this such a top notch site. I'd be so lost without all of you.
