So I stopped eating breakfast sometime ago on the weekdays primarily to avoid the extra trip to the restroom in the morning at work, but also because I had looked into the benefits of the intermittent 16-8 diet and came away somewhat convinced.  long story short, I don't eat breakfast, and some days, don't have lunch until 12:30.

naturally, by around 10, my stomach would begin growling, and ours growls much louder than other people, so this could get embarrassing in meetings.

the past two days, I've eaten a huge dinner of broccoli, rice, and lentils, and have felt completely satiated with no hunger at all through lunch.  I wasn't aware that what is eaten the previous day (in this case 16 hours before) affects satiety?  I assumed at some point you have a clean slate and hunger is hunger.  but the lentils really are working.

I also have gone back to eating a salad at lunch as I had been before, and am having very few digestion noises, and am feeling full until dinner.

so long story short, the conventional wisdom typically preaches that people eat a large breakfast and avoid a large dinner to avoid weight gain, but I wonder if for us jpouchers, for optimal quality of life on the job, the best route is the total opposite - large slow acting protein dinner at night, and then minimal eating throughout the day?
