Hope everyone is doing well. So, I'm 10 weeks out from take down surgery. Over all I'm doing pretty well but still have small nite time accidents in bed. Mostly the size of a tea spoon or table spoon, usually two times a night when it happens. Been doing the intermittent fasting, stopping eating at around 6-8pm with small meal. I know it's what you eat, when you eat and all that, but what I'm asking is those of you who had the jpouch for a while now, over a year or years, do you still have this problem or does it go away. During the day I have no problem holding it in, it's at night that the problem is. Regardless, it is a million times better than having that bag! thanks

Only have that issue with pouchitis that is not being controlled, but once it is controlled, no more nighttime leakage.
Thank you!
When i was in takedown around your time, i was wearing diapers at night, you are totally normal, it will get better overtime, do not worry hon
I now have no more accidents at night, you will get there
Thanks Lauren. I hope you and your dad are doing well. I started wearing diapers at night too, for now.

Your welcome Joe And yeah my dad and I are doing well thanks! Are you still making stuff in the shop??? Any more new work???
I take a Lomotil before bed, mostly to make it straightforward to sleep through the night, but Lomotil or Imodium might help you out. It wouldn’t hurt to get checked for pouchitis, though. Has this been going on ever since takedown, or is it newish?
It's been going on since take down. But not every day. Couple times a week most of the time, unless I eat something that doesn't agree with me. Went to my surgeon and he said it's normal at first. Didn't say I had pouchitis. I was just wondering if some of you still have issues with with it after a year or more. I'm going to take imodium as my surgeon said that would help. Thanks.

Yea, almost back full time. My surgeon gave me the go ahead to do what ever I want if I feel comfortable doing work and all that as long as I don't over do it. Started to slowly working out but the part of the small intestine where the stoma was and is stitched up still feels a little uncomfortable inside and my surgeon said it will be like that for about a year.
You can also try exercises to strengthen the muscles:

Still sometimes have this issue, it’s been 41yrs since my takedown.
Totally normal at the beginning. 2 loperamide before bed stopped the issue for me.
thank you!

Fantastic info, greatly appreciated.
I'm 9 months out and can't remember when it stopped but it did.I tend to wake up even if I'm fast asleep.
