Hello,I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself and also have a few questions.My name is Ronald Roberts and am from MS.I was diagnosed with UC in 2006.Since then I've been on numerous medicine combinations and in and out of remission.My recent flare started this past October.I have tried a couple of medications with no luck.Had a Dr. Appointment 2 weeks ago and the Dr.gave me 2 options,biologics or surgery.I am not a fan of biologics because I was on Remicade for a year and it made me feel awful,joint pain,ear and sinus infections,not including the side affects.The surgeon said he could relieve me with a 2 stage jpouch surgery.This looks like the route I'm going to take because I am sick of the Ping ponging back and forth with medications and remission.Tired of being sick,just want to get back to my normal life but I am scared to death of surgery because I've never had one before.The operation would be done at Ochsner in New Orleans by Dr.Margolin.Has anyone had any experience with either this surgeon or hospital ?There also is a Dr.Beck in the same office that I've heard good things about.I just want to use the best that I can.
