I just started seeing blood in the toilet again. My most recent takedown was about 18 months ago. I have been doing really well. I had pouchitis a couple of time that were cleared up with Flagyl. Other than that, I have been very happy. Now I am noticing blood again. It happened for two days at Christmas then went away and now it's back again. This is about the third day. I have minimal discomfort. I wouldn't even classify it as pain. Just some mild inflamed feeling behind the stoma scar area. My poo is a little more loose today and blood is a little more. Could this just be pouchitis again and I should get a refill on the Flagyl...or does anyone think it might be something worse? I don't remember having the bleeding with the eariler pouchitis. How worried should I be? I've been doing so well I don't want to think about things going bad. Can you say "Denial"?!

Sounds like cuffitis. Bleeding is almost exclusive to cuffitis. Occasionally it occurs with pouchitis. I'd call the doc and see about getting a prescription for Canasa suppositories. Usually this is not serious, but it can get bad if not treated.

I was just reading through some of the other posts and I am beginning to get the same feeling. I'll call the doc tomorrow and see what he will do for me. At least I'll be doing something instead of hoping it just goes away.
