Hello all - I am considering j-pouch surgery. My gastroenterologist does not have a recommendation for any surgeons in my local area (Dallas/Fort Worth). He has suggested I consider Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Stanford or Johns Hopkins. Just wondering if anyone had their surgeries at any of these facilities (or other teaching hospitals) and whether you would recommend them? Any specific drs you would recommend? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

I did not use her but she was recommended by another surgeon who had been at Cleveland. I have seen her lecture and really liked her. There's some recent research that indicates women have better outcomes with female surgeons. Who knows. I ended up in NYC, and happy with my choice, but chose only for personal travel and family convenience. Otherwise would have used Dr. hull.
I have been to Cleveland for myself and other family members. The Clinic is outstanding for patients (and their families) coming from out of the area.

thank you for responding. As it happens, I have an appointment with a different doctor at Cleveland Clinic next week. Perhaps I can talk my way into Dr. Hull's practice once I am in the door
