Hi everyone. If you are hanging out here you are likely not doing fabulous although I wish you are.

As for me I need help or advice. I don't want to alarm my family or friends but I haven't been 'going' which is of course highly atypical. I have bloating and discomfort when I eat (really FULL even though I just ate a tiny little bit) I can drink fine. I don't have much gas but have been burping a bit more (not excessively or anything just a bit more) than usual. Usually I have pretty gassy gross movements so the lack of gas is disturbing. Also I'm not having much come out. But some. No feeling that I have to go either.

Okay. My thoughts blockage. But I don't want to present as a hyperchondriac.

Advice please. You all are lifesavers!

Tanya

I am so sorry sweetie, this sounds awfully like a partial blockage,
Do you have any pain, cramping, fever?
Try more walking, slight bouncing on the balls of your feet every so often, stretching your back out over the Swiss ball (huge yoga ball), hot baths or heating pads, hot fluids (hot anyting seems to help)...massaging your tummy clockwise with warm oil, soft stretching in an upward motion...
Hope that this thing resolves itself soon.

Yes, this sounds like a partial blockage. I say partial because if it was a complete obstruction, you would likely be in considerably more distress.

Sharon has some very good tips. However, I would add to that sipping some grape or prune juice. And STOP all solid food and take fluids only until you start having bms.

Also, if you experience vomiting and/or fever and/or extreme pain, head immediately to the ER.

Sorry you are going through this.

First step is to stop solids and stick with a liquids only diet. Fruit juices are good for mobilizing the gut.

Do not take any harsh, purgative type laxatives, because if you are seriously blocked, stimulating forceful peristalsis can make it worse (like trying to yank a ring off a swollen finger won't work, while gentle coaxing does).

You can try massaging your belly, yoga positions, rocking on all fours, even head stands, to try to unkink a kinked gut.

Hopefully, this breaks loose before you have to resort to the ER.

Godo luck!
