I'm 7 months post takedown and I'm becoming  A little more venturous with eating and drinking the last month or so those of you that seen me on here know that I would only eat grilled chicken and white rice from the beginning but now I'm pretty much eating anything thing except for spicy foods and now I'm having a beer or two or three lol but Friday I really got drunk I tried this new drink Moscow mule its vodka ginger beer and a lot of lemons and limes so I drank about 3 plus a lot of beer yesterday I obviously had a hangover but then I felt OK even with the bathroom but as the day went on I was going frequently and then pain and set in and even all day today I was in the bathroom the pain and the burn  progressed and I'm just a lil worried that it may be something more then just butt burn ... And I was wondering if you can tell me your experience with a day after drunk and jpouch... Thx

My main concern when I drink heavily is dehydration, not any issues with the pouch.

I have had the Moscow Mule, it's fairly popular.

I attended an informal law school reunion party a few weeks ago and got very drunk mixing Beefeater Gin and Tito's Vodka drinks.  I did not have a designated driver so the host made me stay until I sobered up.  I did get a little dehydrated.

Many J Pouchers worry about the pouch when they drink but really your number 1 concern should be staying hydrated because that is what will make you feel like crap the next day.

My official 25 year law school reunion is October 8 and I suspect I will be intoxicated at that event but it's an all day event so I think I will be sober by the end, but if not, two of my close friends and classmates who do not drink can serve as DD.

I should note that I am on a 2 drink a week diet imposed by my GI doc due to taking Methotrexate, and I only drink at special occasions but when I do I explode past the 2 drink limit.  So far in almost 6 months all my blood tests came back fine and the liver chemistries look good, so the liver is holding its own against this assault which also includes antibiotics.
