I saw my gastroenterologist yesterday due to iron deficiency.   We both agreed that my j pouch is causing the problem and there's really little to nothing you can do about it.  He suggested scoping me to look for mucus in my pouch's cup. I should have questioned him about that.   Is that really that big of a problem?  Is there any kind of diet or medication I can take to aid this?     I really don't feel any different now as far as my pouch is concerned.   Not that I ever liked living with a pouch to begin with. But the only difference I notice now is having a little less energy, most probably due to iron deficiency.
