After my step 1 surgery on Dec 10, I'm having the occasional need to pass varying amounts of mucous from my rectum. It was tarry and black the first few days after surgery, but now is just pretty much white and not bloody. Surgeon says this is normal and that I should expect it to continue indefinitely. Who else experiences mucous output from their newly formed (but not hooked up) j-pouch?
