I had an MRI defecography to check for a possible prolapse this week and I got my results back with a recommendation from my doctor saying he wants me to try biofeedback. However, he isn't sure it will solve my issues. He also hasn't explained to me what my results mean, so I was wondering if anyone might be able to explain them to me.
Cystocele: Present;2.4 cm, mild.Impression on vagina.
Vaginal Axis:Maintained
Rectovaginal Space: Maintained
Enterorectocele: Posterior;there is approximately a 3 cm enterorectocele of
the patient's pouch.
Intussusception: None
There is decreased peristalsis of the J-pouch during defecation, associated
with moderate anterior and posterior pelvic floor descent, predominantly
involving the posterior compartment, resulting in significant J-pouch
retention of contrast despite multiple attempts at defecation. The external
anal sphincter does open during defecation.
Impression:
1. Status post total colectomy, completion proctocolectomy, J-pouch
reconstruction, and ileoanal pouch anastomosis.
2. Significant J-pouch retention during defecation, due to a combination of
moderate pelvic floor descent with paradoxical contraction of the puborectalis
muscles and an anterior rectocele vs. J-pouch enterorectocele.
3. Mild cystocele associated with urethral hypermobility during defecation.
From my interpretation it seems like I may have a prolapse? Could anyone help me interpret these results?
Thanks!!
