Guess it must be "running" everywhere Roll Eyes
Don't get it, I'm on Cipro for another problem and have had no night leakage for about a week. I'm barely eating for lack of appetite, and got up this morning and oh, oh, not again. What gives, have given up sugar as best as I have been able to, could it be that I'm not emptying what little I have in my pouch properly? Just don't get it and giving up. Just read Drew's post, and can empathize with what he's going through. Mine isn't quite as bad, although there was a time when it was. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

I'm sending you the very same positive energy - you're so young to have deal with this and I thought about you all morning. I wish that my thoughts could make you better. It must be so discouraging for you to wake up in a mess. I'll have to go over your post again, noticed that someone else offered you a suggestion. One thing about this site, everyone is so helpful and caring.

I have to say that it certainly does sound like pouchitis to me, although, I don't really know any thing in comparison to some of the people here.

Like you, I'm fine or pretty good during the day, but some nights can be bad. Since I have come off of sweets (which I crave all the time) I seem to have improved, plus I have been on some antibiotics which has made things better for me as well and if I did have pouchitis, I felt sure that it would help - until this morning.

In any case hope you see some improvement soon.
So I'm three days into taking the flagyl and all my previous symptoms have gone! I'm quite amazed as I've been battling with my situation for months now .....I am experiencing some side effects of flagyl, like a consistent headache, night sweats and I seem to be low in energy. No nausea though, in fact it's nice to be able to eat again without worrying what will happen later on. So far so good .... Time will be the test here as I don't count on anything till it have had continued success ..... How are u doing?
I haven't really been on the site much but just happened to go on yesterday and decided to peek again today and found your post. So happy that things are better for you. I pray that it continues. Keep feeling better and better! I remember being on Flagyl years ago when I had UC and couldn't tolerate it. Right now I'm battling two very bad organisms that I picked up some place but beginning to feel a bit better. I've been on a course of Cipro for over 10 days now and will be continuing for another 10 days because my my pulmonary doctor feels that these organisms that I have are very antibiotic resistant. I figured that would be good for my pouch as well and I'd kill two birds with one stone. However, I'm still having occasional leakage during the night and am very disappointed that this is happening. I really don't know what to do at this point.

My surgeon put me on Canasa suppositories when I went to see him last month and I've been using them, however I seem to be a bit itchy, so now I'm not sure if I have a yeast infection or it's the suppositories. Guess I'm not in a very good place right now! I feel as if I'm chasing my tail and just going round and round.

If someone can come to my rescue and give me some suggestions of what to do, I'd be thrilled.

Really am happy that you are doing better though, Drew, and I'll keep my eyes out for your posts. Razzer
I don't like to post a new "idea" until it has worked for at least a week for me. However, I recently did a key word search on this forum for "tailbone" area pain (a new problem I have developed this week). Anyway, I read a post that stated his doctor recommended "advil" to reduce the inflammation.

So, for the past 3 nights, I have taken 2 advil PMs at bedtime. The result.... I slept a full 8 hours in a deep sleep and NO LEAKAGE. This is the first time that I have had 3 consecutive nights of no leakage in the past month! Also, I try to empty my pouch as much as possible before I crawl into bed. Nor, do I wake up to go to the bathroom after I have fallen asleep.

On nights that I have to go to work, I will try regular advil's so that I can get by on just 6-7 hours sleep, as I do not want to have to go to sleep at 9pm (too early) and Advil PM's make me groggy in the AM when I first wake up.

Anyway, I still have the tailbone pain and surrounding area in the evenings. I don't think it is due to narrowing or a stricture, because I am able to empty, but it requires some straining and trying different positions for it all to be released.
I just love this site, everyone's just so great. Scott, no my stool is not liquid - actually it's better then it has been for awhile and it doesn't seem to make any difference what the consistency is for me. I personally don't think that I am emptying properly and Lesandiago, think that you have the right idea about trying all different positions for it to be released.

As far as the Advil goes, I thought that it wasn't a good idea to use it when you have a pouch. I'm sure that I read that somewhere on this site, so I hesitate to try it, although at this point I'd try anything that worked. Please keep me posted on this one!
