Hi Guys,
This is a weird one, even for me.
I had my gallbladder out through laparoscopic surgery in 2013. It was well done and apart from what I thought were residual phantom pains over the years, I had not complained.
But I've been having more and more pain where my gallbladder used to be over the last 2-3yrs. It was written off as indigestion or gastritis or even, at one point I thought that it could be my liver. Nausea has been increasing in the mornings (no I am not pregnant!) and the last few days I have had severe burping (I do not ever burp), liquidy output and more sharp pain.
We did 2 or 3 ultrasounds over the last years that showed nothing.
Today I got a sharp, very localized pain that felt like a nail or staple sticking into me, inside-out...very sharp and it felt like it was scratching/ripping the tissue. I can almost 'feel' it under the skin but not exactly...it is a bit too deep.
Every time I bend or move I feel the staple (I am guessing that it is a staple or clip) scratching/ripping through something.
I got my G.P to script me an upper abdominal x-ray. I am too scared to go to ER (like she suggested) due to Covid so I have an appt for Weds in a small private clinic.
I am praying that my old French surgeon is still operating because he is the only one who knows my biology, inside out having assisted on my Kpouch revision here.
I spoke with another K poucher in England who has had the same thing happen...apparently it is much less rare than I imagined.
Has anyone else had migrating staples? What did they do?
Sharon
