I am having my second flair up in nine months and am traveling. The last time I had one I I was in the same geographic location and like the current flair up, I wound up at the same ER with the same symptoms as before: rectal pain, diarrhea, high fatigue, etc. I was given the same meds as before ( tramadol & cipro) and feel much better in a relatively short time. I have had this flair up for nearly six weeks but was unable to see my gastroenterologist until two weeks ago and then had to travel with the condition. My doctor did not prescribe meds other than Hydrocortozone and nupercanol even though the pain was intense and which prompted me to go to the ER. I am angry with this physician beyond belief. While I am not in favor of prescribing antibiotics and pain meds on a whim, I think my gastroenterologist is way out of line in not doing something to aid my condition. I would appreciate input anyone would like to give Including treatment of flair ups.
