Hi everybody, my name is Adam Wilkes, a little background I am 25 years old I had Ulcerative Colitis for around 4 years before being forced into a 3 step j-pouch surgery .
What I want to create is a page newcomers searching on google for advice on their new j-pouch could come to and have very helpful easy to get advice all in one place. I wanted to give back and even if it makes only a small difference to help, that would be great.
This site has been a blessing since having my reversal and now living with my j-pouch , a list of some of the most common problems I have seen members search for and looked for advice on this site are as follows: external hemorrhoids , pouchitis , diet tips, drugs (loperamide + anti-gas ) butt burn creams , probiotics (vsl3).
Obviously there are lots of other problems people face, but I would love it if the veterans of the site such as “Jan Dollar “ that I have seen answer many peoples questions with excellent advice, could all contribute 1 or 2 things they have seen help themselves or others the most over the years living with a j-pouch. it could be something simple such as get moving asap after surgery to facilitate recovery. I really hope this takes off and helps as many people out there who need a list of things to do and avoid in this scary time of their life.
Thanks a lot and have a great day.
