Not too long ago I posted on here about SIBO like symptoms. However, turns out I tested negative for SIBO but positive for Fructose malabsorption, which tends to give SIBO like symptoms. I've been on a strict low Fructose diet for over a month now and it certainly has slightly relieved my symptoms. However, things aren't back to how they were when I was symptom free; I'm still experiencing an unusual large amount of gas.
I went back to my dietitian and she believes it may also be fat malabsorption as another of my symptoms is that my stool always floats and has a very light goldish colour. If It is fat malabsortion I'm aware that creon is the medication. My question is why is the pancreas not producing such enzymes to enable me to absorb fat? I don't beleive I have pancreatitis as I don't have a fever or any stomach pains.
Would like to hear some of your suggestions and thoughts.
Many thanks,
Thompson
