Hey all,

So this is a new one for me. Over the past several months I've had what I would describe as a low-level inflammation of the pouch. A scope revealed a small amount of inflammation in 2 places, but "not enough to justify your symptoms," according to my GI doc. Symptoms, when things are bad, include nausea, increased frequency, loss of appetite and cramping. The cramping is generally right in the middle of my lower abdomen. Still, I've been taking cipro/flagyl off and on pretty much this whole year. I'm currently off, for about 2 weeks.

This morning at 8am I woke up with sharp pain in my lower right abdomen. Below the navel, spreading toward the front of the hip and down to the pelvis. I googled it, but the most common reason for this type of pain is appendicitis. And, of course, no colon, no appendix. I have no other symptoms. No fever, no nausea, frequency is as normal as it ever is with the pouch.

I ignored it for most of the day, then decided to take myself to Emerg, just to be safe. My blood work was fine, and in the absence of other symptoms and no worsening of the pain (which for me is tolerable, but I have a very high pain threshold), they basically sent me home and told me to take Tylenol, and come back if it gets worse.

So, do you think this is related to the pouch? Or is it something else entirely? I'm not really worried, since I did my due diligence. But mainly just curious.
