I’m terrible about taking vitamins and eating vegetables given how fast they travel through and questions about how much we actually absorb given the j pouch. But I am fatigued and can’t ignore it anymore. Blood work shows low folate.

I can eat spinach, broccoli and Brussels sprouts comfortably, but they don’t always fully digest and I’m not sure how well it would go if I ate the recommend servings every day.  I just attempted a smooth, which is more like a dip. Can’t say I’m excited about regularly eating baby food texture.

I’m skeptical about how much I’d get from a supplement and have read about even liquid supplement absorption being questionable. So this is where I’ve ended up doing nothing. Clearly no longer an option.

Curious to hear any recommendations.

Just take a pill supplement. You are overthinking this. Eating food you don’t like or making pureed food that is a hassle, just does not make sense. Even if you are terrible at taking vitamins, if you just make a habit of it, like when you first wake up or when you brush your teeth, you will take them.

I took folic acid pills and it was fine. My numbers came up quickly. You don’t know until you try it.
