Loperamide after Ileus

Hello folks,

Looking for some advice, I'm waiting to hear from my GI but thought I'd ask here anyway.

Is it advisable to take Loperamide just 6 days after resolved Ileus?

I have constant diarrhoea. Urgency & frequency has been every hour but getting better each day.

I suppose one takes 1 tablet about 45 minutes before a meal? And treat with caution.

I would be VERY cautious, as you are still in the healing phase. It is normal for your gut to be in overdrive for a while after an ileus. If you do decide to take it, keep the dose small and back off immediately if your stool becomes thick.
