dear Dan, I'm new to this site so I'm not sure when you posted but I believe the best place for colorectal work in the UK is St Marks in Harrow (west London). My husband recently had a j pouch at Addenbrookes, Cambridge because it's close to home but I think St Marks has the most experience. Hope you are ok

Hi Dan pm me if you want other recommendations I'm happy to share
This site has a post listing k- pouch physicians. Two are in Scotland which might work if you are from 'The North' .
Professor Philips at St Marks in Harrow deals with pouch problems - I don't know whether he just deals with with repairs though. St Marks is a centre of excellence.
They have decent restaurant facilities for outpatients!
During my time at St Marks Hospial, my Consultant, was very direct and matter of fact, he was also very reassuring and understanding.
St Marks, is by far one of the best Hospitals I've received treatment at; a credit to the British NHS.
Dear Strange & Goody2shoes
would you have any info on the specialist pouch nurses at St Marks? My hubby is bring referred there for suspected pelvic floor tightness for a defacating proctogram. We've spoken to Lisa Allison on the phone & she seems knowledgeable but we have history of getting the most junior & least experienced stoma nurses, so we fear being promised everything & getting nothing. Any names or terms we could drop to avoid getting the new girl?
Kate
At St Marks, there's two Stoma/Pouch Nurses:
Lisa Allison, who's the most accessable and experienced and Zara Perry-Woodford, who I believe is referred to as a Pouch Nurse.

At St Marks, such a title, whether a Pouch or Stona Nurse seems to make a difference.
However, whoever you're assigned to; the Stoma Care Team at St Marks is second to none.
The care received at St Marks, compared to treatment at other Hospitals, is on a different level.
Thanks Strange, your experience is very reassuring. & glad you found such great help eventually!

Just to clarify, although I've received treatment at various Hospitals, it's not been due to complications, I sought referral to St Marks for J Pouch Surgery.
Before St Marks, I'd only received treatment from two Hospital.
