Lomotil/ co-phenotrope use | The J-Pouch Group

Hi I have had a pouch for 15 years after uc and have just been told I can not have lomotil/co-phenotrope any more as the drug companies are not making it! can anybody confirm or advise if this is correct, I have been put on codeine phosphate which is not as good. Cheers Dave

It looks like there was a supply issue last year, but it does not appear to be now. If you go to the link below and scroll down, you'll see the notation:

I went to the Mercury Pharma webite (link below) and there is no indication that it is off their list of supplied products or that there is a supply issue.

This link states there would be a supply problem until January 2013 for Lomotil brand only, but co-phenotrope (generic) was available through wholesalers. There is a phone number to call:

This site indicates there are supply problems at present, but there is no date on it. Usually, that means it is a temporary issue:

I phoned the 0208 number of Mercury Pharma - who had no idea when Lomotil (or its generic form) would be available...!
