I was diagnosed with Familial adenomatous polyposis when I was 27 in 1997. I had my colon removed and a J-Pouch created. In 2009 the pouch started to prolapse. Doctors tried to fix it and got lost in the scar tissue, cutting some much needed arteries. Surgery was stopped and arteries were fixed. I was then taken to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where the old J-Pouch was removed along with the rectom. A new pouch was created. After they did the take down surgery, I had an ileus for 34 days. So I was given a backpack to wear with a pump that supplied nourishment. Sine then I have had my major and minor ampulla removed because of polyps growing on them. This left me with some nerve damage in my duodenum. Which means I have to take Bentyl twice a day to help with the constant spasms that my duodenum has. Last week I told my doctor about cramps and a knot where the two ostomys had been. He ordered a CT-scan which revealed a hernia along with a mass by the J-Pouch, a lesion on the liver, a lesion on the right kidney, and a lesion on the right lung. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with these lesions? My doctor (at Duke University)has reffered me to an Oncologist. Just a little scared.
