Im getting some pretty bad leg, feet, and arm cramps. I will eat a handful of salt and that helps. My norm is just liquid, no thickness, so I'm just constantly flushing the nutrients out of my body. Is this normal? Cramps due to lack of salt?

Could be, but you are better off with smaller amounts of salt throughout the day, like salt tablet supplements and salty foods. If you consume a lot at one time, you actually dehydrate and loose salt trying to balance the bloodstream. By the way, never give salt in those quanties to small children! Could be fatal!
oh, and consider slowing your gut with Imodium or similar to give more time for nutrient absorbtion.

Thanks Jan. I'll try spreading the salt out. I have tried everything to thicken, even prescription, nothing works. I've tried natural, herbal, everything! Both my surgeon and my gastro said that this is my norm.
If that is the case, you just need to use salt liberally. Plus, be sure to include potassium rich foods in your diet.

Thanks Jan. Yep, the surgeon said "salt your salt!"
1 banana per day keeps my cramps away!
I really find out that on periods when I eat less regularly bananas I suffer cramps again.
Tomatoes, potatoes (steamed or boiled ), pickles or olives in brine (sip the juice too), sweat and sour everything (salt and vinager chips...) all help...binding agents are baked potatoes with tomato sauce that put pay to your cramps...baths with sea salt, muscle massages...
They all help to a certain degree, just mix and match to taste.
