I have had lower left abdominal pains since Dec 2020 and my GI doctor does not know what the cause is. I had a sigmoidoscopy, blood work and a CT scan last month and still nothing explains what the issue is.

Does anyone have this abdominal pain and how have you gotten through it?

I had full colectomy in 2014 and I have never had pains like this.

First off, what is your gender? Might be something with the pelvic?

Could be gas pains, I had that last year and changed my diet and it went away. Definitely drink water: before, during, and after every meal too.

Hi Lauren, I am male.

I have always drank a lot of water which has been a benefit in the past.  Now, it doesn't matter how much water I drink, Still have abdominal pain and now difficulty making a bowel movement

I am sorry to hear that! What does your gastro want to do at this point?

Have you had PSA checked?

Adhesions can cause this sort of pain after years and years of being quiet. They do not show up on scopes or x-rays, and even MRI can miss them. Often they are found only by exploratory surgery after eliminating all other causes.

The issue can resolve as spontaneously as it appeared too, so unless the pain is constant or severe, you do not want to go with surgical release.
