  • You could thicken up the stool by taking a little psyllium powder (plus the recommended amount of water) with your meals.  I have noticed that this makes my guts happier in general. 
  • Check out pelvic floor exercises.  They get weaker as we age, especially if we have compromised them through abdominal surgery and/or birthing babies. There are all sorts of pelvic floor exercise ideas on the web. 

Because pouchitis can develop so slowly, over months and months, we can become accustomed to the symptoms, essentially normalizing genuine disability. When Cipro alone stopped working for me I didn’t register what was happening, and gradually got to the point where soiling the sheets and my underwear was routine. Now I can’t believe I lived that way for so long.
