I had my colon removed over a year ago and am now ready for a j-pouch. I think I want it done laparoscopicly and am looking for recommended surgeons that are taking new patients. Dr. Costedio at Cleveland Clinic was recommended to me but she is not taking new patients. I even tried writing a letter to her but to no avail. Any information/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure where you live, Sunshine, but my surgeon in Kansas City is awesome and does j-pouch surgery laproscopically (hand-assisted laproscopically). She is absolutely the best, and I imagine she will take new patients. Let me know if you want her contact information.
Hi Sunshine, I don't know how convenient it would be for you, but I had all four of my surgeries done laparoscopically at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. My surgeon was Sergey Khaitov. I'm not sure if he's taking new patients.
I live in Wisconsin but I am willing to travel. I want the best outcome as possible.
Dr. Lina O'Brien
I had my J-pouch at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN.
My best to you.

Hi Sunshine - Doug here - I was considering Sergey. Did you like him?
I had 2 of my 3 surgeries robotically. I'm in Illinois. Dr. Tsoraides ,Peoria, Il. 309-495-0200 Love the man. He does go woork. Only been a week, but I'm doing really well. Next to no scars, except the hole from the stoma. And feeling good too.
Thanks a ton. I am glad you are feeling well. I feel grateful that so many people have reached out. Doug
