Has anyone noticed a change in their J-pouch functioning due to menopause?

I am curious about this as well, since the menstrual cycle seemed to consistently cause digestive trouble for me. I'm just now experimenting with what it's like to be off HRT.
My bowel function would always increase during my periods, I’m on HRT now and again every time I have a period I have more urgency to go, I’m now meant to be in menopause however the HRT is now working properly due to the malabsorption of the progesterone tablets I’ve had to double the dosage and now take it vaginally instead of oral but this is still not working now under a multidisciplinary team and gynaecologist to try and sort it!. My pouch seems to be a bit all over the place with it all at the moments.
I will not take HRT's, riding it out, it's getting better each year. My pouch however is a little challenged due to hormonal changes, I have had to adjust my diet, and be more strict, where as before I had more freedom. Just another challenge I will over come and experiment with. It's all experimental with this surgical lifestyle change. Still remains the best decision, and my quality of life is way better, than my life with UC. 🙂🙏

Did your period stop coming every two weeks???

Yes, it stopped when I decreased the estrogen dose (by half) last fall along with the horrid PMS. Thanks for asking!

Oh good! I thought it was pretty cool that your period was still coming after menopause, to me that it is a miracle. You probably have/had eggs left too.

I'm sure if I have any eggs left, they'd be a mess. Chemotherapy can cause all sorts of cell damage!
But you can also have periods without eggs. The summer periods were super light; they were mostly marked by the horrid PMS.

Oh you were on Chemotherapy? I am sorry to hear that.
I actually just looked it up, periods with no eggs are: abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), did your doctor ever mention that?

Yep. And they did an ultrasound! My uterus is fine, it was just responding to weird hormonal messages.

It's the magic eggs! (Must be the dark arts.)
I'm glad they're not doing their thing any more. It was truly awful. Not the blood. I have never minded that.
