OK - I already have one complex pouch-vaginal fistula with a seton. Yesterday I discovered a small, bead-like "welt"-like bump near the clit, to the inside of the labia minora. There's redness around it as well. It's tender to the touch. And then this morning I awoke with a groin lump, about the size of a marble.

The day before the lump, I did some marathon yard work, with barrier cream on my butt which kinda migrated all over due to heat, etc. So ... I'm thinking something got clogged and I basically developed a pimple-like thing, or cyst? There wouldn't be an abscess or fistula up in that area, would there?!?

I'm going to give it a few more days of hot sitz baths to see whether it goes away, and then will call my gyno first, but wondered if anybody else ever experienced something like this. Already having had one abscess/fistula, I am somewhat freaking out here. Thanks all.

Sitz baths when you can, warm, moist compresses if not, cotton panties, none at night or during the daytime if and when possible, no tight pants (jeans) but skirts if possible...keep the area clean and dry at all times...those are the indications I got from my doc...had them as a teen and realised later that they were related to sweat, hygiene and allergies to creams, soaps, bubble baths, shampoo and other products including coloured toilet paper...
Usually whenever I follow the indications they dry out within 3-5 days...if the groin lump gets better, fine...if not, then you need to call the doc...it is usually a sign of some sort of localised infection that needs attention...

Thank you ladies! My mind is a little more at ease, but so far there've been no changes in the lumps.

Jill, I looked up hydradenitis supurativa and am sorry you get these so often! My "welt" still hasn't burst and/or ooze pus. I've been putting a moist heating pad on it a few times a day, took a few sitz baths, etc.

Sharon - as always, thanks for your advice, very helpful. When you say "dry out", do you mean they just basically disappear? Or do they burst? Is redness around them typical?

Basically, if you touch it, squeeze it or bug it then it will get inflamed or worse...if you do what you are doing, depending on the stage and 'ripeness' of it then it will either dry itself out (meaning disapear) or open up and seep/ouze...either way, as long as it shrinks or disapears then it is all good...if not...you need to call the doc...
It does take up to a week to see a change some times...So be patient.
