after 15 years with jpouch issues, had loop ileostomy created nov 5 2015 at CC. Am scheduled for a second surgery in May to either rebuild or cut everything out and sew it shut down there. Since loop ileo creation, have had issues with dehydration and severe diversion colitis. Will begin medium chain fatty acid enemas for that soon. The last week I have seen increasing amounts of blood in the rectal mucus discharge. Tonight there was a large movement of bright red blood and an active dripping bleed. May go to ER soon if bleeding continues. Does anyone have experience with significant bleeding and diversion colitis.? Grateful for all advice.

I hope someone answers soon. Yes, go to ER if bleeding continues. I had bleeding episodes with my pouch - but they resolved themselves, if I recall. I hope someone out here will help you.
I haven't had it, but do go to the ER if you are feeling weak or dizzy. Hopefully it is just bad pouchitis, but you could have an ulcer that eroded into a small vein. It could need to be cauterized.

several months ago I did have ALOT of bright red blood in the toilet, it looked like when I had UC. I got a scope with Shen the following day and it was really bad diversion colitis, as Shen thought. He sedated me and scoped and sprayed glucose in there and actually put a tampon in my butt. Told me to remove it in 24 hours, which I did and it was all gone. several months later I ended up getting my pouch redone by Remzi due to the sinus and tip of j pouch leak that I dealt with for 2 years. So far so good with new pouch, getting it reconnected on March 7th
All these stories make me think as I age I need to move to Cleveland. I so hope ELooney that you are getting help and/or feeling better!!
