hey everyone. So I had jpouch surgery a few years ago and have some rather large abdominal scars. I have been trying to build confidence back in my body and overall image and am considering modeling nude for a figure drawing class. Has anyone with scars on this board done this or recommend me to do this? I am looking to build confidence and also do something positive and enlightening after all I've been through.

I have no idea whether *you* should do this, but reading your post made me very happy. I think it's a brilliant idea, and if the class has any sense they will recognize the rare gift it offers.
Thanks! I think I am planning to do it. Think it will be a relaxing thing to do and build my confidence.
I think it is great. My scars are the last thing that would keep me from being an art class model. I have confidence, just not when I am naked!

Every scar has a story. Out stories are ones of courage! Of coming through the flames and being forged, rising out of the ashes like the Phoenix!!
thanks everyone. so the modeling went great. nobody mentioned the scars .
also, I got a lot of compliments and not a word about the scars. defiinitely felt good and hope it encourages you all as well. we can do anything that anyone else does but IMO even better
