25 years since colectomy and have had issues with obstructions, pouchitis, blockages, etc, but now I am having a lot of pain in the hips, knees and shoulder joints. Do you think this is related to GI problems or just getting old. Pain just keeps getting worse and ibuprofen helps but not good for pouch? Any suggestion? Haven't been to GI doc in a long time, will probably have to find a new one.

A rheumatologist would be able to help you distinguish between plain old arthritis and enteropahic arthritis.
My primary doc referred me to a rheumatologist. But, this was only after I developed long term sacroiliac pain. I also had years of knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow pain. I was getting by on ibuprofen, but could not take it anymore. I was eventually diagnosed with enteropathic arthritis.

Thanks for the info, that sound real familiar. What are the treatment option for enteropathic arthritis?

For me it is sulfasalazine and biologics. I also take Norco, Tylenol, Robaxin (muscle relaxer), and meds to treat pouchitis, when needed.

Sounds like I need to see a rheumatologis, thanks for the help.
