Hi to my fellow lady ostomates!

I wanted to post a shopping tip. I was having a hard time wearing my old jeans and feeling comfortable all day long. My old jeans hit right at my stoma and the bag wouldn't fill up easily since it all got stuck above my waistband.

I discovered stretch pull on jeans, kind of like maternity jeans with a stretch band at the top. But they are not maternity and they fit and feel and look great! I'm a SAHM and basically only wear jeans all fall and winter, so I had to find something that worked. My degree is in fashion, so they had to be fashionable too Smiler

I found these Jag jeans at Amazon:

Thank you to all of you who have posted tips on what you wear. It greatly helped me (especially all the foundations posts- I had to buy all new stuff and your recommendations of boy shorts and higher waist panties has totally helped). Now I'm rocking my granny panties and my mom jeans! No one can even tell I have an ostomy.

I have a k pouch (abdominal stoma) and during my pre-and post-op periods I have to be hooked up to a tube and leg bag...sometimes for months at a time...I found materniaty panties in nice fabrics and colour and maternity jeans with and without inserts...they fit wonderfully...I bought them off season (especially for the bathing suit) and paid peanuts...

I love these tips! Laura, I looked at the jeans on Amazon and they're very nice. Caty, I currently have a 30% off coupon for Kohl's Smiler I will, most likely, be having surgery in January for a perm ileo, so I am taking notes. Sharon, did you get a maternity bathing suit? When I had a temp ileo, I bought a beautiful one piece from the White Rose collection, but they are expensive and I donated it right after my takedown. Oh, and maternity jeans. You didn't find the panel too big and loose?

Lori,
I love my flea/farmer's market...(no, there are no real fleas...I hope)...I get all sorts of end of season stuff for peanuts...
The maternity unddies and bathing suits were wonderful...they were sort of like for a 4 -6 month pregnancy and not 9 months with triplets so they worked great...I still use them when I am very bloated or swollen.
Vanity fair and Olga also make tons of spanx type undergarments that I find fabulous...I use 'slimming' leggings that massage my legs/hips with microfibers and give me a smoother aspect under clothing...
As for the pants and jeans they have 2 sets of buttons for different tummy sizes...wonderful for hiding things...I also found that 'draped' tops and dress can hide numerous sins...and bumps, lumps and bags...a nice, slightly longer or tunic length top over spanx leggings and you are good to go...
Hubby kind of like the look that I wore back then...I long men's dress shirt, black leggings and a wide, soft belt to pull it all together...sexy as all heck and it hide the leg bag beautifully.

Ohhh, early pregnancy bathing suit. Brilliant. I'll bet that look you described yourself wearing looked fabulous! I tend to wear looser, bohemian tops anyway, so it works perfectly for the "ileo" look. I also bought a couple of Bebands from Target in preparation. I'm planning ahead more this time as this time is permanent. No muu muus for us! Wink
I'm wearing a fitted, 3/4 sleeve, scoopneck black t-shirt today from the maternity colection. It looks fitted but does not cling, has some sheering/pleating on the front sides to created a loose effect over the tummy and the front is longer than the back.
Kind of almost to the top of the tights...wore it with flat black sneakers (Sexy Guess ones), Black jeggings and a little trimmed cardigan over it...my perfect work uniform.
Nobody knows that I have a kpouch even when it is uncooperative, swollen or leaky (the black thing works best for me).
I look elegant and slim (opitcal illusion).
Add a pretty scarf and I am ready for anything
Sharon
