Have had my jpouch for UC and colon/rectal cancer for 29 years. Pouchitis and some intermittent trouble empting completely all at once. On antibiotics daily for years. Emptying facilitated by use of bidet. Last 2 annual pouchoscopies the GI doc noted "possible ischemia" when visualized under scope (I think at site of pouch inlet) and only minor stictured at this point. Will the biopsies reveal more info about the possible diagnosis of ischemia? I know Ischemia means blood not flowing properly to the area and therefore oxygen is compromised to the area. Doc said nothing can be done about it ..just watchful waiting but I read it could lead to gangrene type situation and ultimately loss of pouch. Jan, any info on this ischemia issue with pouches? If necessary, couldnt I have a re-do down the line? Please help, as I am freaking out over this issue on which I have very little info. Thanks, Hattie
