Hello back in 2013 I had my surgery for the j-pouch, prior to this the dr took biopsy's of my small intestine to test for crohns which came back negative, now today I had to get an endoscopy and a j-pouch scope (not sure what that was called), the dr found three ulcers in my j-pouch which he had told my husband i could have a mild case of crohns and took biopsy's to test for it. Im just confused as to how I could test negative three years ago and some how have it now? I wanted to see if anyone has had this experience or if this would more then likely not be crohns? any advice is appreciated!

The tests can't tell for sure whether it's Crohn's - they just provide some guidance. Is there a reason your doctor thinks Crohn's rather than pouchitis? Pouchitis can look pretty ugly and ulcerated.
I have the same question as Scott. My last serious bout of Pouchitis saw me with horrible ulcers in the pouch, but was cleared up easily with antibiotics.

I had on occasion ulcers in the pouch as well
Hi. I was diagnosed with Crohns a year after surgery. Since I'm allergic to Sulpha and Tetracycline I had limited options at the time (1994). I tried acupuncture and it has kept me symptom free since then. I've had pouchitis a few times over the past 22 years but not more than a handful of times. Don't worry - if it is Crohns you will be okay!
How does Accupunture work for this?
My Mom was a nurse and in the medical community there were good things being said about a Chinese doctor (who also had his M.D.) in my city. I went to see him and he treated me with acupuncture and I still go regularly over 20 years later. TCM (Chinese Medicine) follows a very different rationale than western medicine. I don't know how it works, it just does in my case. If you are interested I'm sure you could find a credible doctor of TCM in your area. Don't go to a physiotherapist who does acupuncture, go to a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. Its worth a try if you're up for it.
I see a appunturist for another issues, where do they put the needles IBD?

I'm doing acupuncture as well and am wondering how frequently you go?
I know it's different for everyone but I only feel it truly works for my flaring of pouchitis or really any symptom ((I have crohns now) when I go 2x/week. of course I get remiss when I'm feeling good and don't go for prevention treatments. Acupuncture is just wonderful!
