I am wanting to know if anyone has a j-pouch and a hysterectomy. I am not needing a hysterectomy but I am wondering if anyone has had problems with "down there" after having both done. Eventually I want to have my ovaries removed since my grandmother died from ovarian cancer.

I have had both. No I haven't had any problems other then normal hysterectomy issues. The only thing I have problems with is that I can't absorb the pills I have to cut them or have the patch for estrogen. But other than that it went well. Just a long surgery because of surgery scar tissue.
Didn't have the hysterectomy but had multiple cysts removed from down there (way polycystic) and salpangitis...And the discussion about the hysterectomy with my surgeon. According to him it should not be a problem.
I did have desending organs at one time and my surgeon 'put them all on a nice little shelf' as he put it...made for a nice image in my brain...kind of like a teapot and cups on a shelf!
Told me that that is exactly what he would do for me if he had to do the hysterectomy.
