Hi Fellow IVFers,
I had two juicy embryos transferred today and was curious to know if anybody was worried about pushing to hard when then go to the bathroom. Would this effect then attaching? Having a J-pouch we go more frequently and have to push harder to empty. Has anybody else had this concern? Or am I having anxiety for no reason. thanks!

I worried about it, but there's not much you can do. If the chemistry is right, the embryo will attach pretty quickly I would think, and once it's attached you're not going to get it out of there just by pooping.

I was able to look at the embryos both under a super magnifying glass and also with the naked eye before they (3) were transferred. They looked like specs of ground black pepper. Every time I went to the bathroom after the transfer during the two week window, I would check the bowl for anything that looked like a little spot of black pepper, but not surprisingly I could never see anything. Turns out 1 of them implanted and kicked the other two out, so I was lucky. I hope you will be, too.

My clinic told me there was nothing I could do to make the embryo more likely - or less likely - to stick. They don't even promote the idea of lying flat w knees raised after the transfer. I got pregnant three times (miscarried the second) so they must know what they are doing!

Try not to worry too much, and keep really busy during the 2ww. The best thing is to go out a lot - dinner, movies, etc...And try to avoid HPTs - my second cycle I took one, it was positive, but when I went for my beta the numbers showed the pregnancy was shaky. I ended up miscarrying. If I hadn't done the HPT I would have avoided an emotional roller coaster.

Good luck!

Hi Jill-
Thanks for the advice. My doctor/RN told me also not to take a home pregnancy test also! Did you deal with any hydration issues while pregnant. That is my biggest fear. Because I always feel dehydrated no matter how much I drink, do you ladies have any tricks. I drink coconut water. Thanks for the reply its amazing how this site help you to relax.
