I know I would need to go to a doctor to confirm but wondering if this sounds like pouchitis?  The past week or so I've been having pains in my stomach when waking up at night.  Not sudden tightening cramps like with the colitis but more if a constant cramping pain.  Then since yesterday the pain stayed all day getting stronger after eating.  Stools are normal (well, normal for a jpouch).I have had pouchitis before but last time was when my daughter was born 7 years ago so I don't remember exact symptoms.

Also, do doctors ever just prescribe antibiotics or do you always need a scope.  My GI is about 1hr commute si I would need to almost take a day off to see him (work is super stressful so I'm sure work has triggered by stomach pains).

You can't fight it on your own without knowing what you're fighting. This doesn't sound like pouchitis to me, since you haven't described any connection between the pain and pooping.  Lots of us can start antioibiotics without an office visit, but that's usually after we've established a clear pattern that is very likely to be pouchitis again, and reached an understanding with our doctor.
