Hi Guys,
I have just been watching a documentary regarding intestinal flora...they are saying (and proving) that the development of the intestinal flora in the first 3 yrs of a child's life is decisive in their mental development and when the intestinal environment is perturbed by antibiotics of other medications that alter that flora there is and overgrowth of clostridium (sp,) that is vectored through fatty acids to the brain and is considered, in certain studies, responsible for late onset autism.
They are speaking about children who had a normal development and then suddenly after a run of antibiotics or other drugs (vaccines?) suddenly regressed into unexplained autism (as if it is ever explained).
There is a speicalist on intestinal flora named Dr Syndey Finegold who has been reseaching the subject for 40+yrs and started the first tests on it...without going into too many details the bottom line is: Following the use of Antibiotics, there is a bacterial overgrowth followed by autism...the only treatment for this particular bacteria is Vancomycin which shows a spectacular regression of the autism while the child is on it but can only kill the living bacteria, not the spores that return after treatment...
They are also implications of a food conservater E280 that is used in fatty/sugary foods to conserve them is considered a high risk element and nourishes the particular bacteria...which creates Proprionic acid that is carried to the brain by fatty acids and enters the DNA!
One of the treatments???? VSL30!
They are now doing tests on groups of autistic children in Sweden, giving them VSl30, and removing progressively all milk products (casein), gluten and corn.
The studies believe that a lot of the 'uncurable diseases' are caused by the intestinal flora that we develop by the age of 3 and that many of them including certain genetic diseases (UC? Crohns?) can be CURED by modifying that flora...
They are working on stripping and then reintroducing a new intestinal flora in people who are showing signs of those diseases...
To be continue.
