This is probably a rant but I decided to post this here so more people could read it and hopefully not get messed up like me? I went to renew my Pentassa, this was the second renewal having just finished the first with no problems. So thinking I had this renewal I let it go to the last pill and then called it in and went to Costco to pick up the new. They tell me that the insurance company, Oxford, just decided to change there rules and now I need a authorization first from my doctor. Hello, why was I not notified of this? I would not have let it go down to empty? The GI office tells me that since they have 1 person for 6 doctors doing this my wait is 2 weeks. No meds for 2 weeks. My husband spent 2 hours on the phone last night explaining the situation and I got an approval for 5 days. So back to Costco and now they tell me they need authorization for 5 days. WTF! This is making no seance. Moral don't let your meds go to zero thinking you have renewals? And make sure your doctors writes 90 days or you might be calling every 2 weeks for a authorization.
