I am looking for some advise anybody could give of disability insurance. I have a J pouch (2002) and just a few instances of pouchitis. I have all but been denied long term disability insurance. The best I have found is a 5 year benefit, and very high premium.

You'd have the best success with a large employer's policy, since that generally won't require a medical history or exam. I know that's probably not what you were hoping for, but it may be the only option. The insurance companies won't be excited about taking on the risk otherwise.
