After following up with my GI and Surgeon Doctors they ordered an MRI of my lower region. Today I got a call and I have NO pouchitis!!! YAH!!! But I am have inflammation in my rectum area. They think it is from my fissure but not for sure and if I get into pain again like I did 6 weeks ago for 2 days then they want to put me on Cipro and Flagyl. Does anyone have any ideas what I may have? My GI doctor is out of town right now but this is what the surgeon want to do if I have pain and/or get worse.

Just any thoughts would be great. Otherwise I am doing much better and changed some of the things I have been eating. And not eating as much but that is easier said then done during the Holidays.

Thanks so much for all the support from everyone. I love this website. It is so awesome to have support from people who understand.

I wish I could answer this. I'm baffled by it also. All I can think of Traffic is bumper-is that because I have some anal ulcers and the bacteria from the stool may keep infecting the tissue in the anal canal and the cipro helps with this. I plsn on asking my surgeon about it this week. The other issue is I may have peri anal crohns and no one has diagnosed it yet. Antibiotics are used for treatment of this.
Fiber gives bulk to your stool. It is easier to push something that has form. Fiber also slow down the number of bm's. In the beginning, a low fiber is put in place. As time goes moves on, fiber is added to the diet slowly and according to how much fiber the GI tract can tolerate. After ten years I can tolerate more fifer each year. Two years I had two blockages, so I make sure I drink at least eight glasses of water each day to prevent blockages occurring.
