When my son goes off cipro his crp rate and sed rate go up. He has to rotate off cipro as it stops working. He goes to augmentin which works but his inflammation markers go up, although an MRI enterography did not show inflammation in small bowel. His video capsule showed ulcers there. His biopsies from endoscopy and pouchoscopy do not show granulomas. So there is disagreement among doctors whether he has crohns or not. His clinical systems are becoming stable in terms of frequency though there is still incontinence at night. Question -- are inflammation markers in blood enough to warrant treatment with biologics as some drs suggest? Is it not good to live with that inflammation even if clinical symptoms are somewhat under control?
Thank you.
