So, I woke up this morning to damp clothes around the incision where my stoma was before takedown. I had a very yucky, foul smelling pus coming from the site once I got up and figured out what it was. I texted my surgeon (praise the lord for doctors that give you their cell phone numbers so you don't have to fight the office to get to them!!) and he has called me in an antibiotic. What do I need to be watching for over the next couple of days as I start the antibiotic as far as the infection goes? I hate to constantly bug my surgeon with every little thing, but I've not had an infection before at a surgery site-so not sure what all I should note as troubling.
