Does anyone recommend a good brand of incontinence briefs (or boxer briefs) that actually provide the absorbtion layer across the whole bottom? The products I've bought all ended up being just protection in the front/crotch area because they were all designed with urinary incontinence and not bowel.

For example, these are the types of products I'm hoping for:

I'm not interested in the depends style pull-ups or the guards. I'm a younger j-poucher so I'd prefer the ones similar to in the link above because they look exactly like actual boxer briefs. They're usually marketed as "for men who leak a little". I'm sure some of you share my frustration with small amount of bowel leakage that ultimately goes right through normal boxer briefs and thus the pants I'm wearing.

Most of the pictures on these products (and on amazon) don't show clearly if the absorption panel extends all the way underneath and the back, so I don't want to keep spending $$$ on these just to have to keep returning them.

Thanks!

Gee, depending on how much leakage you are dealing with, I think you are probably better off wearing the underwear you like. Then, use something like B-Sure Pads to catch any leakage. You don't need a device to retain them. Basically your butt cheeks hold it in place. Plus, they are flushable and do not alter your clothing "profile."

Otherwise, incontinent briefs are really the only thing that will work.

Thanks Jan. This is indeed a solution that would help and I wasn't aware of it. To this point, I thought that the only thing out there was depends-style / guards (which were designed for urinary incontinence in mind (not bowel). I am just dealing with very small amounts, usually clear*, so this should work fine. I hope it doesn't slip out though with say athletic shorts on. With guards, even with the tape, I've noticed it can find a way out somehow where there isn't firm support all around (line jeans).

*on that note, any advice related to light (usually clearish) incontinence? It's odd because of course there is more sometimes when I need to go, but when I don't, it's just a small discharge. What is it? Is it general body acids just falling out? I know partially related to hemorrhoid perhaps, but not as much as I see sometimes.. it's definitely generating internally. Just wondering if anyone has come up with solutions on your own or with your doctor to remedy this. it's not related to trouble "holding" but rather just a slow, clear leaking.

THanks!

This is indeed a puzzle. Any anal leakage from the pouch I would expect to be fecal matter. I cannot fathom it to be anorectal without it being fecal, unless there is something else going on.

Truly clear secretions would most likely be sweat or something not from your pouch. Have you been checked for draining cysts, abscess, fissure, or hemorrhoids? Do you have any pain, itching or other symptoms?

Bottom line, this is NOT normal!

Well, it probably is generally fecal matter but it's slight enough to not be seen as brown I guess I should say. I do have a fistula so that causes some clear. but definitely the main problem is preventing some matter from leaking out, especially when I've been sitting for a while. Anyone have any recommendations? It definitely is worse when I feel like I haven't been relieved so obviously going as much as I can helps, but the problem is I cant always go when I need to.

but for light incontinence, any non-surgical tricks? I mean, I can hold it when it's ready to come out, but this is just little leakage that I don't feel happening.
