Hi - J Pouch since 1994 for UC. Would like to try Imodium for sleep and days outside all day. I have always used Metamucil. Is there a specific brand of Imodium that works best?

Imodium is the brand name. Loperamide is the drug. Imodium's formulation of loperamide is considerably more expensive than Walmart's.
Appreciate you. Does it matter whether I get caplets or soft gels? It also gives option for multi purpose relief or anti diarrhea. I’m assuming the anti diarrhea is what I’d want.
Soft gels are optimal but not sure it really matters. The multisymptom formulations you mention probably have other drugs in them. Loperamide is an anti-diarrheal.
CVS brand Loperamide soft gels 24 count.. Sometimes you can get them buy one get 50 % off.
Loperamide hcl 2mg capsules are by prescription
see if your care team can prescribe it as insurance might cover it.

Check your insurance and pharmacy/mail order for loperamide pricing. Capsules are much, much less expensive than tablets on my plan so I make certain that my provider writes the script for this form of loperamide that costs less.
I try to get a brand with very small tablets as I sometimes had a feeling that the stuff to fill up the capsules causes me digestive issues.
Really, never thought about that.
i take all supplements (vitamins) in soft gel form, I was told years ago that tablets (especially coated ones) won’t dissolve for a jpoucher.
always learning something new.
