Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a while since I've visited this site. To recap, I have been living with the jpouch for almost 15 yrs. (Jpouch installed because of total colectomy from Chrohns & precancerous polyps) Well, I'm currently in the hospital post-op from emergency reversal. I apparently had a perforation so bad that fecal matter was coming out if my vaginal. I know! Eeeewww. Gross! Scared the crap out of me (pun intended) and I thought it was some freak infection I had and lived with it for alost 2 weeks. I KNOW!!!! GROSS!!! Anyway 4 days ago, I thought I had some bad gas that I couldn't pass. So painful for almost 12 hours! Finally went to ER, they did CT scans and "long" story short, here I am. I DO have a point to this. I was first told that the ileostomy would be permanent and was actually coming to terms with this. Thinking my quality of life would improve without the ever-present pouchitis that I suffered through for years and just feeling like crap in general all the time. Now I'm told that it could just be for only a few months and that if all looks good, they can do the reversal. Now I'm not sure what to do. I work a full-time job as a customer service rep at a water supply company, I have a 16 yr old daughter who starts her Senior yr next year and a loving husband who is working on his Paramedic certification. I want a better quality of life and want to start feeling better so I can be there for my family. Anyone out there with a similar experience have any thoughts?
