I'm having a Hypaque Enema tomorrow so they Can take pictures of my J-Pouch to make sure it has healed properly. If it has, I will be have my 3rd and final surgery next Tuesday. They explained what they will be doing tomorrow and it doesn't sound too pleasant but I know it has to be done. I am trying to remain positive and look at it as another step forward.

Don't worry, it is really not an unpleasant experience at all. I mean -- yes, you will have a little tube up your butt, but I take it as a given that anyone who has opted for a j-pouch has had more than a little experience already with rectal exams, scopes, enemas, etc. In the pantheon of all that stuff, it is fairly simple. Mine took about 5 minutes, hopped off the table and went to the bathroom to finish emptying out, then went out to lunch! No big deal.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Interesting. They went through my stoma to check me for leaks to clear my j pouch for takedown. It was quick and painless. Funny how these tests are all done differently to check for the same thing.
Mine will be through my stoma also. I forgot to mention that. Good to hear it isn't bad.
I had the procedure today and you were right, it was bad at all. I hardly felt anything. I was also told that they think all is ready for the surgery next Tuesday.
Yay good news! Best of luck with your final surgery!
Thank you.
I agree with everyone else, its a simple procedure... I had mine done the same day as a ct scan of my abdomen... I think the whole procedure took 15 min tops... No need to worry...
Just noticed I am two days late lol happy to hear the good news... Good luck with the takedown next week.. I'm 3 weeks post takedown and things are finally calming down (pain, urgency, etc) I'm thinking this was a great decision to have this procedure done.. thank god technology has come as far as it has :-)
Manny, good t hear you are doing well after 3 weeks.
